Many cats becomes stressed and anxious when trying to get them into a cat carrier, going in the car and then arriving at a new place filled with all kinds of new sights, smells and sounds. Grooming your cat in your own home cuts all of this stress out and only I am the new element in the equation. 

Allow 1-2 hours for a full groom

There are just so many variables when grooming a cat and most of these can't be predicted beforehand. Until I feel the cats fur it's hard to know what condition it is in. I also don't know their temperament with me, especially during a first consultation and session. The size can also affect the price and the length of time the groom takes along with any specific health conditions. 

As of 2022 it is the law in the UK to have all owned cats microchipped. If your cat is found without a microchip you are given a period of time to rectify this or face a fine up to £500. If your cat is exempt from microchipping for health reasons, you will need something in writing from your vet to show this. If lost, injured or found all cats will be scanned before receiving any treatment by a veterinary surgeon or being removed by the council. 

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and it is implanted subcutaneously (just under the skin) between the shoulder blades. It is done by injection and side effects are highly unlikely if conducted by someone qualified and insured.

Anyone with a scanner can scan for a chip but they will only see the microchip identification number. Keep hold of your microchipping information such as the ID number and which database it is registered with.
